What happens to your data

  • Nothing is uploaded.This site is static. There is no server to receive your files, and the page is not allowed to make outside connections.
  • The words are thrown away.Only who sent a message and when is kept. The text of a message is dropped as the file is read.
  • Nothing is saved.No cookies, no local storage, no accounts. Close the tab and it is all gone.
  • No AI, no tracking.The numbers come from plain arithmetic you can read, with a reason beside each one.

How to export your messages

Menu names change from time to time, so yours may look slightly different. Everything you download stays on your device until you drop it here, and even then it stays in this tab.

WhatsAppA minute per chat
  1. Open the chat you want to include.
  2. iPhone: tap the contact or group name, then Export Chat. Android: tap the three dots, then More, then Export chat.
  3. Choose Without media. That keeps the file small, and Rapport only needs who wrote and when.
  4. Save the .zip or .txt to your computer (AirDrop, email it to yourself, or save to Files).
  5. Repeat for each chat, then drop all the files here at once. With a single chat we will ask which name is you.
InstagramReady in hours to days
  1. In Instagram, open Accounts Center, then Your information and permissions, then Download your information.
  2. Choose your Instagram profile and Some of your information, then tick Messages only.
  3. Pick Download to device, date range All time, and format JSON. HTML will not work.
  4. Instagram emails you when it is ready, which can take a few hours or a couple of days. Drop the downloaded .zip here without opening it.
Facebook MessengerReady in hours to days
  1. On Facebook, open Settings and privacy, then Settings, then Accounts Center, then Your information and permissions, then Download your information.
  2. Choose your Facebook profile and Some of your information, then tick Messages only.
  3. Pick Download to device, date range All time, and format JSON.
  4. Drop the downloaded .zip here. Some end-to-end encrypted chats may not be included in Facebook's export.
